A course is built from reusable records, not copy-pasted values. The typical flow:

<Steps>

    A record holds fields such as the target text, a translation, and audio.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Build lessons">
    Group lessons into units, then fill each lesson with parts: rich-text documents,
    rich-media compositions, or exercises.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Reference, don't duplicate">
    Lessons and exercises point at records by ID. Edit a record once and every use
    updates. You can also create a record inline without leaving the lesson.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Put it under version control

Because a course is just a folder of files, you can track it with git and host it on
GitHub or any git provider. That gives you history, backups, and a way to collaborate
when more than one person works on the same course.
